Paramount Schools of Excellence Completes Two New School Buildings

Indianapolis -In a few short months, Paramount Schools of Excellence will welcome students back-to-school in two new school buildings. The completion of the state of the art campuses culminates years of planning, designing, and construction by Paramount’s leaders and community partners. Tommy Reddicks, Paramount Schools’ CEO, reflects, “It has been busy, but very rewarding to see everything come together.”

Paramount Englewood, a middle school, is relocating to the P.R. Mallory Building with Purdue Polytechnic High School. Paramount Cottage Home moves to 1203 E. St. Clair Street near Arsenal Tech High School and Downtown. Once a repair shop for railroad cars, the facility was transformed to serve students in kindergarten through 4th grade. Both Paramount Englewood and Cottage Home are existing schools moving from temporary quarters to their permanent campuses. The relocations are necessary because the schools’ current homes were no longer large enough to support Paramount’s growing student enrollment.

The final finishing touches are underway, furniture is arriving, and teachers are packing up their former classrooms in anticipation of the move-in day. Paramount staff and students are looking forward to their

brand-new, innovative learning spaces. The bright, spacious classrooms have contemporary furnishings, and advanced technology capabilities.

All three Paramount schools are mayor sponsored free, public charter schools under the provision of the Indianapolis Office of Education Innovation and Paramount’s local not-for-profit Board of Directors. The Paramount Englewood and Cottage Home campuses are extensions of Paramount’s successful education model. Paramount’s flagship school, Paramount Brookside, is designated as an “A” school for the sixth consecutive year by the Indiana Department of Education and a 2018 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. And during its first year of operation, Paramount’s second K-4 program (now Cottage Home) was recognized for exceeding the ILEARN state assessment pass rates for every school corporation in Indiana.

Such accomplishments are indicative of the significant impact that Paramount consistently has on its students’ academic performance. Its educational framework and hardworking staff prove to be a successful combination. The schools accomplish their mission and teach the mastery of Indiana Academic Standards through an emphasis on rigorous academics and on-campus experiential learning activities. Enrollment is now open for the school year. Additional information about Paramount Schools of Excellence is at www.paramountindy.org.
