Eskenazi Health has been committed to supporting the community in a variety of ways during the COVID-19 pandemic. In February, Eskenazi Health began hosting free virtual town halls to engage the community in conversations about the development, safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the United States. In the sessions, Eskenazi Health physician leaders and other subject matter experts share data from vaccine trials and current data and recommendations from both the state and national level. Acknowledging that there is some hesitancy with accepting this vaccine, panelists spend the majority of each session answering questions submitted by the audience in an effort to provide reassurance and dispel common myths. The goal with each session is to provide factual information so individuals can make an informed decision.
To date, Eskenazi Health has hosted more than 40 town halls for community organizations such as service providers, businesses and employers, religious institutions, fraternity and sorority groups, and schools. The Eskenazi Health team would be pleased to work with you to develop a free, customized town hall that is right for your organization, If you are interested in scheduling a session for your organization, please contact Tamara Franklin, manager of community relations & health promotions, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Amanda Byrd, manager of communications engagement strategy & operations, at email@example.com.
