The International Center Establishes New Award, Begins Accepting Nominations

INDIANAPOLIS (April 17, 2018) – The International Center has created the Global Impression Award, an honor designed to celebrate emerging leaders throughout Indiana whose work is directly impacting the globalization of the state. Nominations are now being accepted through May 31.

The Global Impression Award was created in response to the growing number of young leaders advancing Indiana’s global profile and appeal. The inaugural award winner will be announced at The International Center’s premier event, the International Citizen of the Year honoring Governor Eric. J. Holcomb, on August 23 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.

“Our community has been blessed with a staggering number of incredible young leaders, many of whom we, unfortunately, don’t hear about on a daily basis,” said Shash Goyal, Director of Database Engineering at Salesforce Marketing Cloud and member of the Global Impression Award committee. “Recognizing the strides they’re making in our state and around the globe is a small but wonderful way to say ‘thank you’ and to give them the encouragement they need to keep going.”

Nominees for the award, whom the committee prefers to be 42 years of age or younger at the date of the ceremony, will be accepted through Thursday, May 31. All nominations must include a completed nomination form found on The International Center’s website (https://www.internationalcenter.org/icy/global-impression-award/) and an updated resume and/or CV and/or public LinkedIn profile. Relevant press clippings and letters of recommendations will also be considered but are not required.

The top three candidates, each of whom will be notified in early July, will be invited to attend the International Citizen of the Year Award as a guest of The International Center.
