Indy Chamber Hosts Fourth Annual Pitch Competition for Ex-Offenders
Montez Williams, A.C.E. Project LLC takes top prize
INDIANAPOLIS (July 1, 2021) – On Wednesday evening, the Indy Chamber and Business Ownership Initiative’s ReEntry Entrepreneurship Development Initiative (REDi) hosted its fourth pitch competition for ex-offenders in Indianapolis. REDi, funded by the Small Business Administration (SBA), the City of Indianapolis, and PNC Bank, addresses the likely connection between entrepreneurship and reducing the rate of reoffending by providing technical business training and education to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals.
This year’s pitch competition was hosted at The Speak Easy with Ken McKinney serving as the event’s emcee. McKinney won the competition in 2018 with his credit repairing business, Promise Credit Solutions.
Montez Williams took home this year’s top prize consisting of $5,000 and a package of professional services from the event’s sponsors. Williams won over the judges with his business, A.C.E. Project LLC, which keeps youth off the streets by teaching them alternative ways of making money.
