Re-Entry Challenge

In May 2019, around 47,000 individuals were incarcerated in state prisons in Indiana. Upon release, individuals re-entering their communities face significant barriers, scarce resources, and uncertainty around how to access social services to support self-sufficiency. Too often this confusion and lack of support results in recidivism, preventing individuals from getting back on their feet and on the road to being contributing members of their communities.

Higher Education Challenge

The misalignment between required job skills and the pool of prospective employees is being driven by too few students enrolling at postsecondary institutions, too few students completing postsecondary credentials, and too few adults skilling up and completing industry-recognized certifications or traditional degrees. This gap presents a huge barrier to economic mobility in our city.
