Before you hear from accomplished, engaging women at the Women in Business Retreat on June 3 – 4, hear from another trailblazer, Nichelle Nichols. Nicholas is best known for her portrayal of Lieutenant Uhura in Star Trek: The Original Series. In addition to her success onscreen, at NASA’s request, Nichols led a massive PR blitz, which recruited more than 8,000 of the nation’s best and brightest, including the astronauts who became the first African American, Asian and Latino men and women to fly in space. The first 65 attendees who register for the virtual film screening of Woman in Motion, will receive a complimentary snack box brought to you by Built Indiana, a women-owned business and client of Central Indiana Women’s Business Center. This snack box will be filled with delicious Indiana products and feature women-owned businesses like Just Pop-In, Tea’s Me Café, and So Chatti! Already registered? All current registrants will be receiving the snack box and will be sent an email later this week to confirm shipping information.
Thanks to our partnership with Heartland Film, the Women in Business Event series has gained exclusive access to screening Woman in Motion prior to its global streaming release. In an effort to accommodate all schedules, registered attendees will be given access to begin streaming at 12p.m. EDT and will have 72 hours to begin watching. Once streaming has begun, attendees will have 24 hours to conclude viewing.
