Join us to talk shop, meet new people, visit venues around town, and share updates with the music community.
As the behind-the-scenes data gathering process of theIndy Music Strategy unfolds, we want people passionate about music, music makers, fans, industry folk, etc to be able to get together and start having conversations. Here’s your opportunity to gather in a casual setting, to talk shop, meet new people, and reconnect with each other.
These “Indy Music Socials” are a recurring, monthly gathering at rotating venues. This also gives our partner organizations an easy way to be a part of the discussion and host events in their own spaces and neighborhoods, and update the community on what they have going on these days. It gives audiences a chance to experience new venues in an accessible way, break down barriers to entry, and plan to come back!
For our May event, we’ll be meeting at Melody Inn. Tucked away at 38th and Illinois Streets and in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood, the Melody Inn is one of the oldest bars in Indianapolis (est. 1935). There is something for everyone at Melody Inn including punk rock, metal, indie, pop, rockabilly, hillbilly, rock, drum ‘n bass and comedy. Join us to experience the historic venue for yourself!
