The Vice President of Inclusive Growth is a member of the Indy Chamber’s executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing small-midsize business services and minority/women business enterprise (XBE) initiatives. This leader will oversee a team of approximately 10 and is responsible for community relationship management, convening, and thought leadership across a diverse group of business, philanthropic, governmental, and civic stakeholders.  

Requirements

  • Provides overall leadership to the Indy Chamber’s inclusive growth and enterprise development efforts, focused on growing the Central Indiana regional economy inclusively by supporting new and small business starts, growth, sustainability, and diversity of business ownership as a wealth building opportunity. These efforts are driven by the CDFI and the Inclusive Growth teams of the Indy Chamber and focused on procurement of contracts, access to capital, and community building. 
  • Responsible for the Business Ownership Initiative CDFI to increase access to capital for new and small businesses, with a special focus on women and minority-owned enterprises. 
  • Responsible for the Inclusive Growth efforts on the Indy Chamber, which include BEI, HBC, CIWBC, REDi, and others as assigned. Oversight includes ultimate accountability for business results, performance management, budget development, investor relations, convening, and relationship management. 
  • Responsible for the hiring, development and retention of team members focused on the CDFI and Inclusive Growth efforts, as well as providing high-level stakeholder engagement and relationship development to key volunteer leaders and participating businesses. 
  • Works with the CEO and other stakeholders to craft a vision for the Indy Chamber’s small business services   functions in the future. 
  • Vice President of Inclusive Growth often interfaces with diverse stakeholders, especially business leaders ranging from very small to multi-national corporations—representing the Indy Chamber and strengthening relationships with business, community, and philanthropic leaders, and converting interested stakeholders into investors. 
  • Often responsible for convening stakeholders to analyze and address difficult challenges. 
  • Works directly with the Business Advocacy team to provide policy analysis and develop recommendations as well as   public-facing thought leadership focused on inclusive economic development and entrepreneurship. 
  • Often interacting with media, public gatherings, and a wide variety of stakeholders to convene on topics of interest including inclusive growth, entrepreneurship, and public policy.
  • Inclusive growth strategy, including small-midsize business and XBE services.
  • Integration with other Chamber functions and business units, including regional economic development, membership sales and service, talent and image, marketing and communications, and government affairs.
  • Other initiatives and personnel as assigned.

Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in business, communication, public administration, economics or a related discipline.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Extensive experience in leadership in a community/economic development, urban planning, entrepreneurship, lending, or a related industry.
