Director of Development

The Director of Development is a curious, creative, and   professional representative of the Indy Chamber’s Strategy Team. This role supports the Development Unit in strategic planning and implementation for resource, external relationship building and works cross-functionally with other units   of the Strategy team. The Director acts as an organizer, connector, communicator, resource, partner, and project manager.

Requirements
  • Play key role in prospecting, networking, presentations, grant writing, proposals, and deliverables for Accelerate Indy. 
  • Support strategic project management, stakeholder convening, and outreach for development initiatives and special projects.
  • Assist in work planning, implementation, and tracking deliverables for Accelerate Indy investors and stakeholders. 
  • Develop and write grant proposals to secure funding for various projects and initiatives. 
  • Develops systems and processes with the Development team for strategic planning and implementation including tracking grant submission and report deadlines. 
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders for proposal information. 
  • Collaborate with Finance team to support grant and investor reporting and compliance, including maintaining a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission. 
  • Track and report on the status of proposals and follow up as needed. 
  • Maintain strategic relationships with Indy region organizations, partners, and community stakeholders. 
  • Stay informed on civic, community, and economic issues to align with Indy Chamber initiatives. 
  • Support Accelerate Indy Council, Indy Partnership Council, and Business Ownership Initiative Board priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary credential and/or 5-7+ years’ experience in Fundraising/Grant Writing, Economics, Business Development, or Public Affairs /Public Policy
