The Chamber believes a Regional Transportation Authority is a vehicle whose time has come in order to make the central Indiana region a better place to live, work and play.
A mass transit system to serve our region, highways and air travel must be upgraded if central Indiana is to compete on a national and global basis.
More major interstates meet in the Indianapolis region that in any other metropolitan area in the nation. The state motto, “Crossroads of America” is easily applicable when you consider 75% of the United States and Canadian population can be reached in one day’s drive. The interconnecting highways in Indianapolis make it easy for drivers to get into the city and around its locales, making it an ideal place for business transportation, distribution and logistics.
