Martin Luther King's Daughter to Speak on Hope in Indianapolis

Following her inspirational keynote, Dr. King will share more of her personal journey, take questions from the audience, and lead the Power of One Hope candlelight ceremony to promote hope around the world.

This program will explore the interrelation between the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and disability leave. Topics include preventive strategies in curbing FMLA leave abuse, extension of leave as a reasonable accommodation, regular and predictable attendance as an essential job function, job reinstatement and reassignment, and light duty obligations. The program will also address pitfalls for employers when an employee files a worker’s compensation claim in the FMLA and ADA context.
