Homegrown Tech Systems Provider Building Headquarters in Downtown Fishers

FISHERS, Ind. (Feb. 10, 2016) – Braden Business Systems, a provider of comprehensive technology solutions, announced plans today to build a new headquarters here, creating up to 120 new high-wage jobs by 2020.

“Look at Indiana’s tech industry today, and you will see businesses like Braden that are growing at an impressive rate,” said Governor Mike Pence. “Every day, Hoosier entrepreneurs are developing solutions and bringing new ideas to the market while creating a close-knit, collaborative community to further advance innovation. Braden’s expansion means more great jobs for Hoosiers, and it is further evidence of a tech sector that is thriving here in Indiana.”

The homegrown Hoosier business will invest at least $5.6 million to construct and equip a four-story, approximately 40,000-square-foot office and multi-use facility at the corners of Municipal Drive and North Street in downtown Fishers. With construction set to begin in this summer, Braden will occupy the new building’s top two floors, which will feature an open office environment and a technology showroom for its customers. The company also plans to lease an approximately 10,000-square-foot warehouse near its offices, expanding its total footprint by more than 5,000 square feet over its current offices on Indianapolis’ north side. Once complete, Braden will sublet the remainder of its new building in Fishers to retailers, restaurants and other businesses.

Braden employs 70 full-time team members, including more than 30 employees hired in the last six months, and is currently hiring for positions across its operation. New positions are expected to pay an average wage more than 35 percent higher than the average Hamilton County wage. Interested applicants may apply online at http://www.bradenonline.com/careers/.

“In reviewing all of our options to call home for our team, Fishers, Indiana, rose quickly to the top of the list,” said Dave Braden, president of Braden Business Systems. “We are excited to join and add value to the technology renaissance in Fishers for decades to come.”

Founded in 1989, Braden provides information technology solutions to businesses across the state, with most of its clients based in Central Indiana. With roots in supplying traditional office technology equipment to area businesses, the company’s major growth today is in document automation software, computer networking solutions, offsite backup and hosting, cloud services, phone systems and data security. Achieving annual 30 percent profit increases for many years, Braden’s success has allowed the company to support the growth of Indiana’s tech community, including providing free equipment and services to Launch Fishers, a co-working space for entrepreneurs.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Braden Business Systems up to $1,450,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Fishers will consider additional incentives.

“Braden Business Systems is an innovative leader in the industry and we are thrilled they are relocating to Fishers,” said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. “The company joins a growing collection of technology companies in our community, and the new facility will be a welcomed addition to the Nickel Plate District in downtown Fishers.”

According to TechPoint, Indiana’s technology initiative, computer and information technology jobs grew twice as fast as all occupations in Central Indiana from 2009 to 2014, with the region’s technology jobs on average paying more than $75,000 a year. Fast Company ranks the Indianapolis area No. 6 in the nation for technology jobs, while DataFox recently ranked Indiana’s capital as the No. 2 city in the nation for tech grads.
