Fashioning a Community

Indy Chamber News Archives

This coming May marks five years since fashion industry advocacy group, Pattern, came into existence. Recently, Pattern hosted a State of Pattern event to share some of the milestones that have been reached by the local fashion industry through its efforts.

Some of the highlights from the event:

  • Membership has gone from ten people to over 1200.
  • Pattern’s namesake publication, launched in 2012, has a readership of over 30,000 people and is nationally and internationally distributed to places like Hong Kong, the UK, Canada, Brazil and Austria.
  • Pattern opened its first retail location - a clothing boutique -  on Mass ave last August. The store puts special emphasis on local designers and helps counsel fledgling brands on how to take their product to the next level.
  • Pattern is currently involved in launching a Fashion Accelerator located downtown Indianapolis in partnership with Riley Area Development Corporation. The space is set to open in late 2015/early 2016.
